Translate Revit files.
Names, parameters, materials and views in Revit families, projects and templates, translated without Revit.
- Input
- .rfa · .rvt · .rte
- Output
- Same version
- Changes
- Text only
HOW IT WORKS
Three passes over the file. Nothing else is touched.
- 01
Read
The file is opened as an OLE container and every text record is listed with the number of places it appears.
- 02
Choose
Content is text you see in Revit. Maybe can be internal names. Auto-translate, or type your own.
- 03
Write
Only chunks whose text changed are re-compressed. Every other byte is copied unchanged.
GENERAL NOTES
Check the file in Revit before you share it.
Revit’s format has no public spec. These are the limits we know of.
- 01Open the output in RevitVerifyChanging a string’s length has not been confirmed safe for every element type.
- 02Output stays in the source versionVersion lockFor a newer version, open the translated file in that Revit and save it. Older versions are not possible.
- 03One translation per unique stringFile-wideA string gets the same translation everywhere it appears in the file.
- 04Auto-translate without an API key is rate-limitedUnofficialIt uses Google’s free web endpoint. Large files can hit the limit; you can always type translations by hand.
